The rubber before vulcanization has a low viscosity for easy pouring. No heat is released during vulcanization, no low molecular by-products are released, the shrinkage rate is small, the vulcanization can be deep, and the operation is simple. After vulcanization, it becomes a soft, transparent or translucent elastomer, which maintains elasticity for a long time in the temperature range of -65 to 200 °C. Excellent electrical and chemical stability, water resistance, ozone resistance, radiation resistance, weather resistance, moisture resistance, impact resistance, good low compression set, low flammability; physiologically inert, non-toxic, odorless, vulcanization speed Can be controlled with temperature, etc.

Condensed silica gel is generally composed of five components: base glue, cross-linking agent, catalyst, filler and additive. Usually the base, crosslinker and filler are made into one component, and the catalyst is used as a single component, so mold silicone is used. Also known as two-component vulcanized silica gel, RTV-2 room temperature curing silica gel. Vulcanization is carried out at room temperature. An appropriate amount (1% to 5%) of a catalyst (curing agent) is added to the main component of the rubber, and a cross-linking reaction occurs to form a flexible and elastic colloid.

The two types of silica gel have their own characteristics, but for the convenience of arrangement, if the silica gel needs to be applied on the mold or in direct contact with the skin, it is recommended to use food-grade silica gel. Food grade silicone has FDA certification. Silicone that can come into contact with food! Condensed silica gel, if it is in direct contact with human skin or food, do not choose it. The main use of condensed silica gel is industrial products!
